About This Hike

This iconic and popular peak in The Forks area offers panoramic views of Moxie Pond and surrounding mountains. This hike has some slightly challenging sections of bare rocks and exposed roots, so proper hiking footwear is important. It makes for a great trek for beginners, kids and active grandparents alike, but shouldn't be skipped by even the most experienced hiker. Along the way, your professional and friendly guide will ensure a safe and enjoyable hike sharing unique/historical information and stories about the mountain and surrounding area. Hikers will meet at our base at 7am to be shuttled to the trailhead which is about 15 miles away and on a dirt road. After the hike, we'll have you back to base in time to enjoy a tasty lunch at one of our great local eateries and to tackle another adventure in the afternoon. Consider cooling off after your hike with one of our Daily Kennebec River Floats! * Even on short hikes, it is important to stay hydrated - please remember to bring a water bottle! *Light trail snacks are provided by we encourage you to pack any preferred snacks that you wish (just remember: pack-in - pack-out!)
